Trauma Masterclass Invasive Procedures
In the prehospital care the surgical invasive interventions pose continuous challenges to emergency physician. The aim of this course: after a brief oral presentation, the surgical skills (thoracostomy, thoracotomy, limb amputation, and prenatal resuscitation) are being practiced on cadavers at the University of Pécs, in the Department of Pathology.

Noninvasive Respiratory Support in Emergency
Respiratory experts and Emergency Medicine specialists will review the latest evidence on noninvasive respiratory support through a series of lectures, skills sessions, case studies and practical patient scenarios, putting into practice Noninvasive Respiratory Support within an Emergency Department setting.

Point-of-Care Ultrasound – Abdominal, Lung and Thoracic, Cardiac
In this course, participants will learn about the most important emergency ultrasound applications used in both clinical and prehospital settings. The training will take place in small groups, with a strong focus on hands-on practice. The theoretical background will be covered interactively and case-based, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning experience.
Learning Objectives:
- Abdominal Ultrasound: Learn how to detect free intraperitoneal fluid in both trauma and non-trauma patients. Identify the aorta and recognize sonographic signs of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
- Lung and Thoracic Ultrasound: Diagnose pneumothorax, pleural fluid, pulmonary edema, and consolidations using ultrasound. Identify rib and sternum fractures in thoracic trauma.
- Cardiac Ultrasound: Understand the basic cardiac views and assess left ventricular contractility, as well as inferior vena cava and right ventricular filling. Evaluate septum motility, pericardium, valves with Doppler and the aortic arch.
